Organic Heights

"Good takeout options are always lean for vegans, but they just fattened up a bit with this cafe and bakery in Park Slope. The decor is suspiciously generic, as if the bold green awning, small airy storefront space, and counter seating were just unsealed from a modern pre-fab hipster hangout kit. The food, however, rises above," says Metromix.
"There are salads, $4.95 to $7.50, including roasted potato and tempeh; sandwiches ($6.95 to $9.95) like a tempeh Reuben; platters of teriyaki tofu with sesame broccoli and brown rice ($9.95); and cookies and pastries," writes Florence Fabricant for the New York Times.
And Yelper vegan v. says, "I've had their s'mores cookies sweetened with agave. It was probably one of the best vegan cookies I've ever had... The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is really friendly. It's a good place for a casual lunch with a friend or just for by yourself. I do wish they'd spice up the decor, but you can relax, read the paper, and no one will bother you." What's your take on Organic Heights?

This place has been open for some time and I believe had a slow start, but it is now reliably filled with customers. I have eaten here several times for lunch as it's a rather healthy option. There is another vegan restaurant nearby, on Flatbush across the street from Franny's, that is more of a sit-down restaurant, but this place with its foot traffic on Bergen and leisurely vibe is my preference, even though I am not a vegan.

Yummy smoothies, soups, and salads, and also a good selection of vitamin and herb health products. Really helpful owners -- Mark and Paul Zumoff.

Really cute place on an even cuter street. Love the smoothies and salads. And I agree with Babs...the owners are great.
I've seen this place listed for sale, but wonder now that they seem to be doing better business if they've decided otherwise. Honestly when I saw it listed for 150K, I thought about buying it. That street has a ton more foot traffic now and this little spot is perfect for it.
Go give them a try! And stop by Bark a couple storefronts up and have a hot dog and a Six Points!

The coffee is also quite good, no lines like Gorilla, and they are super friendly.

I am jealous! That block is amazing!
But I like my block a lot too. :)
If I lived there, I'd be 300lbs cause I'd LIVE at Bark and BKLYN Larder.
