"Bussaco represents New Brooklyn Cuisine (NBC) — and this place is so Brooklyn that the communal table is made from white oak salvaged from Prospect Park. Beat that!" writes Daniel Maurer for New York magazine. And Shecky's elaborates: "Choose from first courses like roast quail breast with foie gras mousse and pickled peaches ($13), and second courses like beef bavette with braised sweetbreads and Yorkshire pudding ($25). The bar menu includes a killer roast pork sandwich ($10)."

Chowhound Fay says, "We had a lovely meal at Bussaco last night. Hadn't been there in a while and was surprised to see how much the menu had changed -- for the better, it seems to me. There is greater variety, and definitely more 'wallet-friendly' options... We had an unusual and delicious special of goat curry (actually, goat served two ways: a piece of seared loin, served medium rare, and green curry over rice) and excellent moules frites." How would you rate Bussaco?

Havent been there since they changed the menu but was there a few times before that and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the higher quality places in that vicinity.

Really like this place, staff are eager to please, wines are well chosen and the food is consistently good.

I really wanted to like it, but found the food wildly inconsistent and the waitstaff way too full of themselves. The art was nice, though.

We've been a few times now and have had a good experience both times. We've tried just drinks and a burger as well as the three course menu. Both we re very good and while we don't go here every week it's certainly on our list of decent places in park Slope. Staff are friendly, quite suprised it's not busier although being off high st can be a problem.....

I feel that this great (if slightly precious) restaurant gets lost amongst a few other great (if slightly precious) restaurants in the same area. This is a great restaurant - lovely food, wonderful space and really good service. A bit expensive, but isnt everything? The menu nails it. (re value ratings below - there needs to be something between "very overpriced" and "about right" - maybe "special occasion"? )

One of the classier spots in the Slope.

I have only eaten here once, thought the food was good, but ended up getting terrible, up all night, food poisoning from the scallop dish. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Saturday night back in May. Have not been back and have no plans for another visit.
