"Oaxaca is a narrow storefront on Smith Street, serving tacos, tortas and enchiladas in a space with the warmness of a TCBY. Sterile vibe aside, 21-year-old owner Moe Alhidami is ambitious and pumping out some of the better taco cart fare this side of Sunset Park," says Metromix.
"At Oaxaca, the tacos ($2.95 to 3.95; $9.95 for three, with rice and beans) are almost daintily composed, with curls of pickled red onion lending a dash of pink, a fine dust of Cotija cheese, and a tiny wedge of lime tucked in one end. They taste fresh and light, bolstering the menu’s declaration of fealty to organic produce and all-natural meats," writes Ligaya Mishan for the New York Times.
And Chowhound lambretta76 chimes in: "I don't think anything about this place is Oaxacan... [but] I was very pleased with this place... I would put it at Tacos Nuevos Mexicos quality, and not terribly far off Matamoros or Tehuitzingo." How would you rate Oaxaca, and what's your favorite taco there?

Does anyone want to call this Carroll Gardens rather than Boerum Hill? I have always thought of Baltic as being the boundary, sometimes extended all the way to Douglass but never past...

3 - 4 dollars for a taco? that's about .50 - 1.50 too much, more if believe in the "Brooklyn discount" They better be good.

Ate here the other night. Although it is a little pricey, it is worth it. Love the steak tacos and the many daily specials.

Very good food. I guess you could say it's overpriced because its tacos but where else in this area can you get such a good tasting meal for like $9?
