Greenpoint Coffee House

Greenpoint Coffee House is "the go-to place to get a coffee in Greenpoint - Relaxed vibe, great food, and the neighborhood 'Cheers' establishment," says IndieBound. And Yelper Sarah R. writes, "The décor has that old-time, semi-steampunk feel that seems to be everywhere in Brooklyn now, but here it feels cozy instead of contrived... Great: the omelettes (which are fluffy yet substantial) and the pancakes, which are ever-so-slightly crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside. Oh, and the coffee is rich and strong... Meh: the waffles, which were sort of bland."
Mark Holcomb for New York magazine doesn't knock the brunch here but says that "the entrees on the recently added dinner menu are hit and miss. Lunchtime offerings, like the silky grilled smoked salmon, cream cheese, and scallion sandwich on fresh, not-too-crisp sourdough bread, are satisfying and thrifty; each sandwich comes with a mesclun salad, though the sides are uninspired. The GPCH remains the best place to get a decent cup of coffee in Greenpoint, but it falls short of being a dining destination." How would you rate this place?

so good. great atmosphere. great brunch. good service.
if you haven't been to Franklin St, go here on a nice weekend day then walk around. If you walk north to the end, you can check out the new pier.

That guy has clearly never been to Champion coffee. I'll let him off though, it is a bit out of the way.

One of my favorite places! The best pancakes in Brooklyn are served here (there are photos on Eat It). Somehow both fluffy and crisp, they're perfect. The space is comfy & lived-in too. I've had lunch which was good. The coffee is great as well and one of my favorite things is to go early in the morning to sit with the paper & a cup of coffee. There are many rumors about GPH closing which I hope aren't true. Anyone have info?

The room is so beautiful. The space is tops. Even if food sometimes off, hey, what a special spot.
