Fountain Cafe

"On Atlantic, there are a slew of tasty Middle Eastern spots: Waterfalls and Fountain Cafe being the two stand-outs," says Chowhound vatl619. "We particularly liked the kibbeh saneeya, which is a pie of lamb and pine nuts with a cracked wheat crust, served with minty yogurt sauce; a friend swears their lentil soup is the best in town," says the Village Voice.
"You could feed a caravan from a dinner platter at this Syrian spot along Brooklyn’s Arab Alley. Smoky kibbeh, tender stuffed grape leaves and mildly spicy chicken-kefta kebabs spiked with parsley and onions arrive on plates piled high with salad, rice or fries, and hummus or baba ghanoush," says Time Out New York. How would you rate Fountain Cafe?

oh i like this place! i eat here probably once a week. it's my favorite quick middle eastern place in the area, comparatively speaking. and i like the older (maybe owner?) guy who is usually in there. he is sweet and serves this great tea flavored with mint and something else like cardamon - yum! though the ambiance isn't really great, it makes up for it in the food...definite recommend. (though my favorite middle eastern place of all is falafel chula on union in williamsburg. man i love that place!)

Tasty food at a reasonable price. The waiters are extremely nice when you come in with kids, which I appreciate. I really hope this place survives the economic downturn.
