"Call it a bustling coffeehouse, an upscale diner, or a calculated hipster haven... During the day, sunlight bleeds through the oversize windows onto the long, wood bar, where the 'self-employed' sip bottomless mugs of coffee and pick at tempeh Reubens while pretty baristas keep the burr grinders buzzing," writes Matt Goulding for New York magazine.

"Homemade American fare like buttermilk fried chicken, biscuits and sausage gravy, burgers, and red flannel hash are all guaranteed to fill you up, while the Mayan, a velvety mix of hot cocoa, mildly spicy pasilla chili and two shots of espresso, will make sure you don't get drowsy," writes Keith Wagstaff for Citysearch.

And Alia Akkam for PaperMag comments on the brunch menu: "French toast ($9), made with thick slices of fresh challah from neighborhood bakery Warsaw, gets slathered in cranberry-pecan butter... Dense homemade sausage patties ($4), resembling mini-hamburgers, are almost a meal." How would you rate Brooklyn Label?

You're welcome, wine lover! So far we've got this one and Greenpoint Coffee House -- are there other spots on (or around) Franklin that we should cover?

This place is great. Great coffee and food. I've been going there for years. There have been times where it's been a bit inconsistent but overall it's a good experience.

The waiters are surly and the food is overpriced. I and most of my friends boycott this place after bad service experiences here. Too bad because I like Cody's other places - the service at Papacito's is always friendly. I don't know why they can't get more helpful people here.
