"A warm spirit abounds at this mainstay sports bar and restaurant. Multiple televisions on both sides of the cozy room ensure unobstructed sight lines for fans, whether they're sipping pints at the oak bar or snacking on pub munchies--like baked clams, nachos, and buffalo wings--at tall tables in front," says Citysearch.

"The waitstaff is always great and friendly. The burgers are what all bars should have - decently priced with big portions - and they have sweet potato fries!" says Yelper Beehive H.

But Chowhound MShapiro shares a mixed review: "They have multiple TVs and games on throughout the bar and they usually have a good lively football crowd on Sundays. However, IMO their beer selection is OK, Waterfront, Brazen Head and Chip Shop have better offerings, and their food is mediocre at best compared to the other bars and/or restaurants in the area." How would you rate Cody's?

It can't be worse than the food at PJ Hanley's, can it?

Agree with jjbk, the food is pretty bad but the bar and atmosphere is fine. It is pretty packed for football games, and I go there sometimes to watch but they should really upgrade their TVs. Very nice owner and staff.

I have walked by there a million times and never went in. I need to give it a shot to watch a football game this year.

Downtown Bar and Grill a few storefronts down. What is wrong with that place? I love the inside. They have a ton of TV's and great beer selection. But they have 2 major problems: It is so expensive that it is comical and the service is always bad. We were the only ones eating there for lunch one day and the same guy is always there and he is just standing there not coming over when we have empty drinks and he does it every time. The only reason we have gone back is because the food is good. Ate there about 5 times but thats it never going back.

It's a great place to watch a football game if your home team is in another division. The food could be better, but honestly, as far as bar food goes, it's not bad. Also, the folks who work there are great. If you can put up with all the Steelers fans (and for some reason, there are A LOT of them there) it's a pretty great place to watch some FOOTBALL!!

BTW: The Saints are going all the way this year.

My husband & I go here all the time for their wings (and sometimes even order them to go). The sauce on them is perfect, sweet, spicy, amazing! As for the rest of their food, nothing special...but for Sunday football wings, you must check it out!!

The food is average, but cheaper and 1,000 times better than the crap you get 2 doors down at Downtown Bar & Grill (one of the worst rated restaurants on Brownstoner). The staff and customers are really nice, and they have a good mix of people of all ages there. (My 70 year old neighbor goes everyday). I do enjoy their fried ravilois when they have them.

nothing to write home about but not the worst option. The neighborhood really needs a proper place to watch football on sundays. Wades is packed and they blast music instead of the games for some ridiculous reason. Downtown is just aweful, you have an order of fries and 3 beers and get a $50 bill after waiting an hour.

The best option would be O"Keefs on Court, they have the absolute best bar food around, their wings kick a$$. It is big and has plenty of TVs. but for some reason they can not get the NFL package. My buddy use to work there, he claims they can not because they need to put a dish on the building they are in and the building is owned by the Jahovahs who refuse to allow them to put such a dish up. I would think there are other ways to get all the games though, doesnt time warner offer an nfl package, or one of the other cable carriers?

I eat here often with my husband and have never had a bad meal. I'm especially partial to the chicken francaise, but the burgers are good too. No, it's not a 4 star restaurant, but it offers good quality food. The service has always been very friendly and efficient.
