Clemen's

"In Windsor Terrace, Clemen's Taco and Burrito is the choice for cheap Mexican food." says Metromix. Yelper Tina M. says, "I always get the tacos here and each one I've tried - al pastor, beef, chicken in red sauce, marinated portobello (my favorite, so good!) - has been delicious. At $7 for 2 tacos, the price is right."
"At the steam table, customers select among taco fillings of beef, chicken or seafood, or five different veggies—such as smoky roasted corn, meaty stewed portobellos, and spinach sautéed with pozole (hominy) and garlic—and that's before you get to the beans, tortillas and sides. Six varieties of burritos lead the pack, from the two-fisted Super Grande to the Clemen's Special, stuffed with an eggy, gently spiced chile relleno," writes Helen Zelon for New York magazine. How would you rate this place?

yeah, when i think of good mexican food, i look for a place called "clemen's" that touts "new york mexican style" with a big cheesey sombrero and poodle out front.
double pass.

Goldie, I'm guessing the poodle isn't permanently leashed to the sign, but I agree with everything else you say.

I wish to god this place was better. It would improve my life measurably. It just isn't very good.

Unfortunately, very recently, their food isn't as good as it once was, and that is extremely disappointing. It used to be very good, but this place is still fine cheap Mexican, regardless of the sombrero. I'd definitely choose clemens over other mexican take out in the area, like uncle mo's.

Clemens is awful - everything is decent quality ingredients, but totally lacks flavor. Thank god for Gavilon in Kensington.

WAY TO SALTY...and if I want my fill of iceberg lettuce I'll goto McDonalds.
Huge potential, lousy output :(

In a pinch it will do, it is better then Lummy Taco on 8th Ave and 11th St. Don't go out of your way to eat here, the half chicken and rice and beans is decent. With the right cook this place would be rockin'.
