Tutta Pasta

"Get your carb fix and fill up on a lotta, lotta pasta here. The food is nothing extraordinary (rigatoni alla vodka, fettuccine Alfredo) compared to the selection available in kitchens nearby, but the price is right when you want to eat a lot of dough without spending a lot of dough," says Gayot. And Chowhound jen kalb, who didn't expect much from this place, writes, "I was dragged kicking and screaming to Tutta Pasta for a function last spring and it was fairly good, better than I expected, certainly better than any basic Italian place outside NYC would be."
Metromix has positive things to say, too: "The first thing you'll notice at Tutta Pasta, besides the candlelight reflecting off the mirrored walls, are the enthusiastic waiters. In fact, they'll probably notice you first, and you'll have their attention for the remainder of your stay--from the delivery of hot foccacia bread to your table within minutes of your arrival to their suggesting the bananas flambe for dessert." How would you rate this place?

Food is Meh. Very very salty, which I consider a 'cheating' way of making food taste good, tho lots of good cooks do it too.
The main time we try to go their is during the Halloween parade, when you can sit on the sidewalk and watch the folks go by transformed by witchy magic.

It's ok...not horrible but certainly not spectacular. There are better Italian places to eat at on 7th. The prices aren't high, but considering the mediocraty of the food, it's approaching rip-off range.

It's Tutta Pasta - sweet moses have the choices come to an end, this is a chain! I mean how common!

Edible, but that's about it. Why this place stays in business is beyond me... must be people from neighborhoods that have no selection of decent restaurants.

Dull, dreary food and indifferent service. Why go here when there are lots of good Italian options on 7th Ave (Enoteca Sette, Sotto Voce, etc.)?

Agree. Blah.

Fettucini (made fresh) El Funghi (or whatever - chicken, mushroom) @ Sotto Voce be da bomb.

Nothing extraordinary fits the bill for me, but of course I can remember back when there weren't that many decent restaurants in the nabe. Still, beats Aunt Suzies.

I remember thinking it was a big deal when it first opened because it was one of the "better" places to eat in the neighborhood. Now I know...it sucks.

The only thing that recommends this place is that there is always a table open. I've been a couple times, and never had anything that wasn't mediocre, but at least I didn't wait.

The very definition of "damning with faint praise."

Pasta is terrible. If you know anything about pasta do not eat here. If you have no standards think Chef Boyardee is good, then go for it.
