Ignazio's

Ignazio's, located just around the corner from Grimaldi's, is poised to pick up tourist traffic. Chowhound oolah writes, "We were the only non-tourists in the restaurant, which is oddly decorated in a quasi-TGIFriday's meets Morocco look. The pizza looked very good, and the service quite friendly, but the pizza was disappointingly bland. Cheese was rubbery, and the sauce lacked flavor."
But fellow 'Hound lambretta76 really likes the place: "I expected little given the reviews here and elsewhere but was blown away. The Sicilian I thought was far superior to Pipitone's or House of Pizza (and other places that do a 'grandmother style' Sicilian). The shrimp and bacon was also very tasty, with high quality smoked bacon, battered and fried shrimp, and fresh arugula on top."
And Thrillist adds, "Washing it down's all-Italian reds/whites, plus suds sourced entirely from Brooklyn, including Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint, and Kelso... For entertainment, Ignazio's boasts a baby grand on a small stage, and every night'll host all manner of acts, from reggae, to blues, to world music -- confidently pitting the goodness of his pies against the badness of the pan flute." So, how would you rate this place?

I ordered a large pie with 3 toppings from this place when they first opened. $34 for a marginal pie.
I recently decided to give it another shot because Lucalis was closed and I did not feel like walking to Grimaldis.
I ordered the a medium sicilian pie($22), which was the closest thing to L&B squares I have ever seen.
That being said I could get an entire half tray at L&B for that price so I will not be going back again anytime soon.

This place will do fine with the tourist crowd, but no real Brooklynite is going to be impressed.
The decor is strange (think part Moroccan, part suburban mom, plus tacky red carpet), the live music is bad and loud (sounded like a dying bird), the pizza is mediocre and overpriced (and prices have jumped up since they first opened).
