Crossroads Cafe

Crossroads Cafe, located in Windsor Terrace with an outpost in Downtown Brooklyn, was recommended to us by WTbound. Chowhound Claire says it's worth stopping by for "coffee, soup and sandwiches."
Yelper Michael F. calls Crossroads a "Pretty standard coffee shop/cafe amalgam. There isn't much room inside, but during the summer the outdoor seating is nice. I haven't had anything worse than alright here, but I also haven't had anything better than good."
But fellow Yelpers complain about the coffee, and Brett W. says, "I'm not a picky coffee drinker at all, but even I will admit that there's something off about it... It's kind of cool that they serve some select wines though." What's your take on this place?

It may be because I live across the street from Crossroads, but I love this place. The staff and owners are very friendly and nice. They have a great selection of pastries, muffins, breads, cookies, sandwiches, etc., a lot of which they make there on site. Needless to say I love the coffee to, since I drink it everyday! Beats the heck out of giving my money to some mega-franchise, and I'm supporting my neighborhood.

Expresso at downtown BK spot is good. Creamy, large serving, post modern version of expresso. The double is huge.

Sweet place with a very friendly staff, but I have to agree about the coffee - it's not very good. Get it iced with tons of milk and you're fine.
