Acqua Santa

"A lovely patio, partly covered by grapevines that grow more lush as summer progresses, isn’t Acqua Santa’s only attraction. The friendly staff and hearty fare make for an enjoyable meal at any time of year," says Time Out New York. (And thebradleythomas shares a photo of the outdoor space.) "The name means 'holy water' in Italian. But secular types shouldn't worry. Any worshiping at Mario La Manno's laid-back, candlelit trattoria is for his rustic Italian cooking—thin-crust pizzas, simple pastas, and entrées like a red-wine-and garlic-sauced pork tenderloin," says New York magazine.
Owen Roberts for Gowanus Lounge says, "I had the 'Ballerina' pizza, which I would recommend to anyone. It's a margarita pizza with... salad on top, which you spread out and then fold the slices over it and eat it like sandwich. Our server was more than happy to explain it to me—I think I looked a little confused when he brought it out." And Strolling New York says, "Don't hesitate to try the beet gnocchi." How would you rate this place?

I used to like this place. Liked the outdoor seating and the food was relativly consistent (read: not too bad). Then, in early 2007 I went and they screwed up my order (It was a steak special and one of the most expensive things on the menu that night). After I pointed out the mistake they refused to fix the problem. I have not been back since and will not be going any time soon. Yes, I am still very bitter about it.

Food is good - if it sounds good to you on the menu, chances are you'll like it. Pizza is really good, but pricey. For 13 bucks I'd rather get a DOC at Motorino.
Although what sets them apart is the amazing outdoor patio. You really feel like you aren't in Brooklyn anymore - Romantic at night, relaxing during the day.
Service can be good, but have experienced some incompetence (not as bad as king's though, a restaurant should never refuse to fix a mistake as online reviews/word of mouth can really hurt a place)

king - wow! ironically, ate here on sunday. it's more european country restaurant than williamsburg imo. have been 2x and both times and really nice food. outdoor space is definitely pleasant and fun in the summer. would suggest this as an after work/happy hour place outside too.

Lived on this block for a couple of years. I've seen the owner of this place be a see you n t to his workers at least twice in the open (before the restaurant opened for the day). Wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. Can't vote on the food because I didn't eat there.
