"The bright American Legion-style room is one long hall with rows of tables to accommodate robustly celebrating groups, and, since there's no written menu, the close proximity with other diners makes it easy to pick your entrée judging from the best-looking plates," writes Jack Robertiello for New York magazine.

No menus means no prices are listed, but Yelper BrasilPo P. shares some ballpark figures: "I do know that 1/2 a carafe of white wine was around 8 bucks. Also --- for two --- we had 12 clams, 8 ravioli and a HUGE and JUICY Pork Chop with peppers for $42 bucks." Pardon Me For Asking shares photos of the monster pork chops and says that "one of Tow Toms famous chops is enough to feed a small army."

And Thrillist warns, "2Ts is often reserved for private parties involving policemen, firemen, and other -men... so definitely call ahead. Otherwise, you'll cruise all the way out there, and get no Tom at all." What's your take on this place?

This place is great. From what I remember they only take reservations (but haven't been there in awhile so I could be wrong). Its family style, when I have been there, they basically tell you whats for dinner. Its alot like Sam's that many people won't like it because of their longstanding "quirks" and unwillingness to bend them for anyone, which for me adds to its character. Great food all around.

Everyone should go once, but definitely not a date place. Last time I went my fellow diners at the long tables were discussing the terms of their parole.

I was going to write earlier, its a place goodfellas go right before and right after prison, no joke.

It's definately not for your organic granola eating tea lounge crowd for sure. If that's you, just stay away and don't complain about it. I am sure they don't care. Come hungry and bring some BIG eaters.

I am dying to try this place just based on the lore surrounding it. However, I have heard good things about the porkchops...

An absolutely unique Brooklyn experience. They stand at the table and tell you the menu, they don't take guff, and the food is insanely good. Ambience is zero -- at 2 Toms real plants would be considered frou-frou, but the utter lack of ambience is somehow ambience in itself.

Last time I was there with my wife, the only other party was a group of firemen. Like 75 firemen, with an open bar. They were loud, they were boisterous, and they were insanely nice guys -- picked up our check despite our repeated insistence that that really wasn't necessary. That's 2 Toms, and God bless it.

I've been there quite a few times and am always looking forward to the next time. I give the ambience a five for its unabashed lack of ambiance. The food's good, but the experience is the main reason to go. As mentioned in other reviews, the place is filled with -men - firemen, policemen, garbagemen, etc., and occasionally their wives or girlfriends. It's a great place to go with a bunch of guys to sit around, eat, drink and BS for hours.
