Peter Meehan of the New York Times says that Roberta's surrounding streets "are quiet at night — maybe a little too quiet — and it doesn’t look like much, unless blocks of low-rise industrial buildings and yards ringed in concertina wire are to your taste... The place has a D.I.Y. feel, like a Bushwick loft. The ceilings are high, with beams exposed, and the floor is poured concrete. The dining room can seat about 50 people."

"The pizza at Roberta's is very good (though not world-class)... The crust is thinner than the typical Neapolitan pie and thicker than the cracker-thin-crusted Roman pizza. It is chewy, usually blessedly salted, and airy and light... The creamy mozzarella is made in-house," writes Ed Levine for Serious Eats. Michael Anstendig for New York magazine writes, "There are nearly two dozen toppings, with unusual choices like taleggio cheese, capers, and tuna. The combo pizzas remove the guesswork: The guanciale and egg has delicious shavings of house-cured pork jowl surrounding an egg that has set perfectly, and the R.P.S. aptly balances peppery sorpresa with mellow roasted red peppers."

"Roberta's is far and away the best eating to be had in Bushwick. The owners, servers, cooks, etc. are all fantastic and innovative, and it is really one of the only places experimenting with flavor combinations in the area. The hen of the woods mushrooms are killer... and in the summer the arugula salad and green and white arugula pizza are standouts," writes Chowhound hartofgold. However, fellow 'Hound monamiferdinand describes the place as "a bit expensive, especially for Bushwick, and not worth a particularly long trip, but solid and generally pleasant." Roberta's is cash-only and no longer has a BYOB policy. How would you rate this place?

i've never eaten here but I do recall a story re: how the owners got their pizza oven via IT and had the hardest time!

I love this place! Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks (no longer BYOB, but that's OK). Overall, my favorite "gourmet" pizza around.

just went for the first time. very cool vibe, very cool place and great food. I will definitely go back!
