K-Dog & Dunebuggy was "named after the owners' kids nicknames," says Planet PLG. "You can get a GREAT cup of coffee at KDog, and enjoy it on the subway platform which is only a few steps away," says Chowhound jmj.

Yelper Dave M. says, "Everything is made fresh. Free wi-fi. New soups every day. The service like every single non-franchised business in America is slower than Dunken Doughnuts [sic], but so what... Personal favorites are the Cuban Sandwich, the curried chicken salad and the smoothies." And Across the Park adds, "The food and beverages are a great addition to the culinary options in the neighborhood, but it's K-Dog's warm vibe that lends strength to the neighborhood's sense of community." How would you rate this place?

K-Dog has transformed it's stretch of Lincoln Road, from a steet one walked down to get to the park or subway to a neighborhood destination.

They also have damn good coffee, sandwiches, bagels, and cakes!

I like this place. First time going was to see Bob Marvin's photography at this newly opened cafe, and have been there several times since. The food is great, the owner and staff friendly. I especially admire the commitment to the community, and their ability to serve up good, healthy fresh dishes in the process.

Every neighborhood needs a place like this. If they ever want to expand to Crown Heights, I'll be a loyal and frequent customer.

I concur with MM Every community wants and needs cafe's like this. Since they opened three or so years ago, two other restaurants opened on their block. They are a justifiably celebrated resource for our community and I hope they have many years of continued success. Try them when you come to the park or the BBG or the zoo or...

Love it! K-Dog's has brought a great spirit and true dedication to the community. Gabby has created a cool gathering place for everyone and she's always looking out for positive things to do for the neighborhood. I was there on election night and also on inauguration day -- such emotion and cohesiveness was truly inspiring.

All that and the food and drinks are great too! Wonderful soups (Hale & Hearty), sandwiches, bagels from La Bagel Delight. Super espressos and lattes, OK regular coffee. Really nice servers!

And that's Dan (bartender at Enduro) sitting on the bench in the photo -- Hi Dan!

KDog is a classic nabe hangout that is quintessential "old Brooklyn." Great food, great service, fun and healthy vibes and ambience. A comfy place for singles, couples, group meetings, kids and grands, it attracts all the people diversity that PLG/Brooklyn has to offer and is uniformly welcoming to all.

i've only had great espressos and cappucinos here so i can't rate the food yet. the service is friendly if a bit slow but that is part of what i want from living in this part of brooklyn - to slow down and enjoy what is there. the owner is great - i asked her so many questions about the neighborhood when i started looking here. she was much more helpful than any broker i dealt with. when people are looking at apartments in my building and ask me about the community i tell them to check out the cafe to get an idea.

The owner of Kdog has a good business model. She opened up a cafe in a neighborhood that is just dying for one, and she will succeed. The place is never empty.

Good advice, winthropst -- and please keep in mind that real estate agents and brokers CAN'T say too much about any neighborhood due to Fair Housing restrictions, so it may not have been their faults. I do the same thing -- whenever anyone asks me about the neighborhood I tell them to go to K-Dog's and talk to the patrons and staff there -- everyone is always very helpful.

Sorry, but the coffee here is simply NOT good - especially the espresso drinks. It tastes like they haven't cleaned the espresso machine since they bought it. And the service is glacial. The soups and salads that I've tried have been good, but pretty basic. I'm still hoping for a Gorilla outpost east of the park.

This place made me want to move near to it. Why doesn't Fort Greene have something like this? Okay, we do... just not that close to me. They have kids toys too... perfect spot to go after visiting the zoo.

I live in Fort Greene, by K-Dog is well worth the trip across the park. Great vibe, good food, coffee and brews. Staff is so, so friendly. I went for the first time on inauguration day and fell in love with the regulars. The turkey meatloaf sandwich is to die for. I also hope to acquire some darning skills at their unofficial, every-other-Friday stitch and bitch. Last time, I just bitched.
