"An arresting black-and-white photograph of a pine tree anchors the ochre-colored room, which is simply but tastefully decorated with wooden tables and complementary striped fabric," writes Erin Behan for Citysearch. "This French West African eatery marries the culinary heritages of Parisian-born [owner] Emmanuelle Chiche and chef Abdhul Traore, who made his New York City debut at Les Enfants Terribles on the lower East Side. Traore hails from Korhogo, a small town in the Ivory Coast that's become this... restaurant's namesake," writes Danyelle Freeman for the NY Daily News.

"The two culinary cultures surface in dishes like the seafood Grand Bassam, which offers shrimp, scallops and other shellfish in a lightly spiced tomato broth, francofied by a pistachio-rouille–topped crouton. Gallic tips-of-the-hat include a starter of escargot, the soft critters nestled in a heady Pernod–red-wine sauce," says Time Out New York.

Chowhound David B raves about the "truly wonderful dinner" he had at Korhogo and encourages "everyone to give the place a shot." In his words, "The scallops were amazing and dare I say even give Saul a run for the money. The Halibut reminded me of something you would get in the Caribbean, nicely grilled with sides of fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes... Portions are fairly large, service was exceptional and surprisingly professional. Wine list was small but very reasonably priced." What's your take on this place?

Went for Restaurant Week. The food had no particular flavor, displayed no craft, and was overpriced at Restaurant Week prices. I don't know why people seem to like this bland restaurant.

I came here for a prix fixe on New Years. Had it been $25 per person, I think I would have left happy. For $50, I guess I expected a little more. Everything was fine, but nothing was memorable.

It's a very small space. Probably seats 20 people tops, which makes your meal end up feeling almost like a gathering with extended family. It's impossible not to hear neighbor's conversations, and at least when I was there, tables mingled with other tables. Some people might like this cozy atmosphere, but I found it a bit strange.

I love this place and have eaten here frequently. Food is always wonderful and the vibe is great. I don't find it any more cramped than any other typical restaurant space in New York City. And the back room is fantastic. With the garden it's a particularly nice place to go in the warm weather.

I've been eating here since it opened, and more accurately, since it was called Bouillabaisse (both at this location and on Atlantic Avenue). It's excellent. I have no idea what the first two commenters are talking about. Perhaps the restaurant let its guard down during Restaurant week or on New Years (although, I doubt it). The food is unique and extremely flavorful, especially the seafood stew and bouillabaisse. The space is intimate and appealing. Give it another shot, people.

I've eaten here several times and enjoyed it immensely every time. The food is inventive and flavorful and the atmosphere is just right for a casual place. In the summer months there is a very nice garden in back with a trellis covering much of the space. The staff is attentive and polite.
