"It’s perched directly above some exposed outdoor train tracks — but that hasn’t stopped the owners from turning its front patio, so small it can accommodate only two tables, into a shady, breezy retreat festooned with fake flowers," writes Grub Street's Daniel Maurer of this tiny Tibetan Cafe in Ditmas Park. "There are little paintings on the walls outside, and the clean, cool inside of the restaurant is decorated with small flags in, we were told, Tibetan national colors, and hanging lamps," adds Ditmas Park Blog.

Chowhound Westminstress explains, "The owners also run a deli next door, and apparently they were serving tibetan dumplings (momos) out of the deli, and the momos became so popular that they decided to open a restaurant!" And according to the Village Voice's Sarah DiGregorio, those momos are worth a trip: "The steamed dumplings are deluxe, beloved dishes in Tibet... The crescent-shaped beef variety has a thick, chewy, fresh skin; nip it open, and beefy broth comes oozing out, along with fragrant steam. The juicy ground-beef orb inside is flavored with ginger, garlic, and onions. Even better is the gigantic momo, called paysar momo, listed under the appetizers—it's the size of a softball and harbors an entire boiled egg along with spiced beef." What's your take on this place?

Really nice food. If you live in the neighbourhood, this should be a regular for you.

Tiny, humble and endearing little place. The more ordinarily "Indian" prepared food at the counter looks less interesting, but the dumplings were great.

i'm not sure who classifies the type of cuisine that a restaurant serves, but to call the food in a tibetan restaurant "chinese" is an insult on levels both political and culinary

Love this place and the waitstaff and go there often. My favorites are the thenthuk (traditional Tibetan soup with handmade noodles), the momo, the goat sausage, and the sha-baklap (fried beef dumplings). The teas are also excellent. Make sure you ask for the extra spicy hot sauce!
