"The exposed brick and tangerine walls, flickering candles and tiny bar cast a formal mood across this cozy Park Slope trattoria, but the high ceiling fans and two glass walls (left open in warm weather) add a casual breeziness," writes Jessica Branch for Citysearch. "The ever-changing ravioli specials boast a variety of fillings, a past favorite being ricotta and spinach, doused in garlic and oil and splattered with endive-onion-tomato sauté and sharp bits of ricotta salata. Such crumbly yet dignified pairings of creamy and sharp are this joint's genius," says New York magazine's Marissa Pareles.

Who Ate The Big Apple? recommends Sotto Voce's lunch special: "For just $7.95 the restaurant offered: a choice of soup, salad, or a mozzarella and tomato salad; an entrée; and hot tea or coffee... I ordered the fusilli primavera, which was excellent. The garlicky pasta was full of fresh vegetables like summer squash, zucchini and mushrooms." And Time Out New York adds, "A long list of $12 brunch specials, with bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas, draws a wait on the weekend."

Sotto Voce's 7th Avenue success led its owners to recently open Aperitivo and Alta Voce on 5th Avenue. How would you rate this place?

Very tasty. Tables are a little too close together and felt a bit crowded, but I guess they call that "intimate" these days.

Never a fave. I believe they are also the owners of Aperitivo on 5th Ave. After trying Aperitivo three times, we have officially given up. The service was always good, but unlike revenge, brunch is not a dish best served cold.

SnarkSlope, are you the other half of the "we" pierre de taille always references?

Shhh, that's "our" little secret.

The food is great. I agree the tables are close together but the food/service is good enough to make up for it. I prefer dinner to brunch, but brunch is good too. Aperitivo isn't being reviewed but its good, the service is a bit slow but very nice. Its a hard time to have opened and I hope they do well.

We order nothing but the fresh fettucini with chicken, rosemary and mushrooms (that's why I can only give a 4 star for food). Awsome!

a good solid place, agreed the place is too cramped, but the food is good

Went there once and paid $15 for a pasta & chicken dish--which came w/o chicken. when we asked them about it, they took it back to the kitchen and brought it back with two skinny chicken fingers atop. Never been back, never will

the worst Italian in the slope this side of Aunt suzie's. Evryone I know abhors the food. the service is fine and the location is nice, but the food is horrible. Overcooked pasta, tomato sauce that tastes canned, yuck!
