"Grilled kangaroo salad? Only in Brooklyn. This über-minimalist space attracts the date crowd for upscale Thai cuisine without the upscale pricing," Shecky's reports. New York magazine describes Long Tan as "a sprawling, minimalist-chic Thai restaurant and lounge with a snug garden, house-infused cocktails, an intriguing Australian wine list, and a kitchen that challenges nearby Blue Ribbon’s late-night supremacy." (Long Tan serves food until midnight on Sundays through Thursdays, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. They deliver until midnight every day.)

"With a deft hand, [chef Chris Cheung, formerly of Ruby Foo’s] produces artful, satisfying morsels like fresh lobster sushi rolls with wasabi cream and chili garlic sauce; or grilled flatbread wrapped around slivers of roast duck, green pepper and scallions, presented in a savory puddle of peanut and coconut curry," says Time Out New York. "The restaurant's piquant dishes balance beautifully with zesty ginger beer-based cocktails," Citysearch's Kat Kinsman adds. How would you rate Long Tan?

Long Tan is one of the restaurants I miss most since leaving the Slope. Great food. Great drinks. Great djs on the weekeneds. The best chocolate martini I've ever had because they don't sully it with cream or milk. It's delicious and packs a punch. The snapper is also dynamite. I want to go there right now.

"Grilled kangaroo salad? Only in Brooklyn" I didn't know that Brooklyn was the epitome of exotic cuisine.

Been twice, had the pad thai once and the masaman curry once ... both were delicious, and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, they have decent beers on tap, and the music's above average. It's a great place to stop after catching a show at Union Hall around the corner. Definitely recommended.

We don't mind sitting at the bar, and it pays off. $5 pad Thai, happy hour drink specials, and specials on appetizers as well if you choose to sit at the bar. Tasty, fresh food every time I've been there.

Great local place - stylish vibe, tasty food, friendly service, great cocktails, reasonable prices. Not the height of gourmet food, but you really can't go wrong here.

I'm a big fan. Their food is very good and I like the ambience a lot. the best part is that you can just about always get a table. It's a great safety spot for a weekend night.
