Everybody knows that if you want to eat the most authentic Chinese food in Brooklyn, you've got to head down to Sunset Park's Chinatown. But what if you just want a halfway-decent order of sesame chicken delivered to your door? Chowhound tiger2 says, "Hunan Delight on Union Street in Park Slope is okay and delivers to us on Clinton/President in Carroll Gardens. It's not great, but it's much better than anything in Carroll Gardens/Cobble Hill and is fresh and quick." And fellow 'Hound Widmark says that since they're not serving "from behind bullet-proof plexi," it's a place where "you can sit down and get some free noodles and some Orange Chicken or whatever and have a nice meal."

However, New York magazine's Andrew Sessa is disappointed by Hunan Delight's basic fare: "Park Slope’s Hunan Delight isn’t as good as it looks. Its clean, contemporary décor may be a leap forward for a neighborhood glutted with grab-and-go Chinese, but... the kitchen’s output is more like dynastic chic on a budget. The Hunan-focused fare is fairly standard New York City-style Chinese complemented by several Thai-inspired curry dishes and a wealth of vegetarian options. Execution throughout is hit or miss." What's your take on this place?

Good food and a much nicer "dining space" then the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Its nice to sit outside on the Union Street side. Very good veggie choices. For take-out they have a smaller size option

Good, reliable Chinese; some interesting specials; responsive service; overall, an asset to the neighborhood.

Hunan Delight is the only decent Chinese food in this area; all the joints with pictures of the dishes in the windows are awful. I just wish it was closer, or there were more places like it here in Boreum Hill/Fort Greene. Or are there more and I've missed them?

Red Hot II on Seventh Avenue has the best Chinese food in the Slope.

After the remodel Hunan Delight reminded me of that Old time Republican saying "You can't just put lipstick on a pig, Its still just a pig".

meh, This restaurant is like Obama's domestic policy's a lot of hope and change, but gives you the shits if you eat too much of it

Tofu on 7th is also decent ... tiny and odd inside, but the food is fresh, tasty, and they have impossibly fast delivery, at least as far as prospect heights.
