Bannister Update
The bannister has gotten one coat of sealer but needs to be finely sanded now.

Baby's Room Ready for Finishing Touches
The painting is finished in the baby's room. All we need to do now is add the strips of wooden pegs that will line the room where the two colors meet and add a strip of playful wallpaper along the top of the walls.
Master Bedroom Reaching Completion
The glass-paned door to the master bathroom is now in place and adds a nice sense of space to the room. Between the door and the interior window, there's lots o' natural light in the bathroom now.
Vanity in Master Bath
We think we're going to need to make some kind of front for the vintage marble sink in the master bath. Do you agree?
Skylight from Above
We don't love the aluminum look of the two skylights--feels a little cheap to us. We wish it was made of iron or something a little sturdier looking.
Music Room Nearing Completion
Now that we passed the plumbing inspection, we were able to finally close up this wall of the music room where the chase runs. We still need to build the shelves here to house our 2,000+ record collection.

Trough Sink Needs More Support
After much struggle, we had to accept the fact that the trough sink is too heavy for the wall and needs legs. We're using a couple pieces of wood for the time being.
Lavatory Sink Finally Working
This sink was in the house when we bought it, but we moved it up one flight from where it used to be. We're probably going to wallpaper this room--it could use some color.

Extra-long Spout Installed
The extra-long spout to accommodate the wide lip of the clawfoot in the kids bathroom just arrived and was installed.
(Ugly) A/C System Almost Ready to Roll
The Mitsubishi ductless airconditioning system we selected has presented its share of problems. The biggest issue that they look like crap. We had--mistakenly--assumed that they were designed to be hidden behind discreet vents or registers. Nope. They are designed to be on full view which seems crazy. So we have had to build boxes in the wall for them and are still hunting for attractive grills to put on the front of the boxes. That said, the system should be fully operational this week.

Painting the Radiators
The radiators are getting spray-painted silver before getting hooked up.

Guest Room Also Just About Done
The same goes for the guest room--though the mantel piece still needs to be painted.

Bird's Eye View of the Stairs
Here's another view of the stairs in their unfinished condition.

The Stairs Dilemma Continues
We're experimenting with how to paint the stairs. We can't afford to restore them back to the original wood and we're definitely going to carpet them, so...

Front of Parlor Floor
Here's how the front of the parlor looks after being sanding. We're going to use this space as our office/studio/grown-up playroom. These floors are really the original sub-flooring, we think, as most of these Victorian-era houses were originally outfitted with wall-to-wall carpets on the parlor floor. At least that's our theory. Can anyone confirm.

Laundry Floors Not Yet Finished
The last room to have its floors done is the laundry room...Hopefully today!

Trough Sink Mounted in Kids' Bathroom
It turned out to be quite a bear to mount this trough sink. Finding faucets that work with it has also been quite difficult. Nevertheless, we think it'll be a cute touch to the kids' bathroom.
