Garden Floor Rental's Original Shutters

parquet

The garden-floor rental is almost finished. Here's view of the street-side living room with original shutters intact. Original Marble fireplace in this room is in the process of being stripped as well.

anyone have any experience with installing new shutters in windows where the originals are lost? We would love shutters in our dining room. Does anyone custom make new ones, or install restored ones? Do-it-yourself salvage is too much work for me -- I'm not equipped to strip paint off anything...

Wait 'til you see the floor tomorrow. It came out great!

Does the fireplace work? Did you have to reline them all?

Those shutters look fantastic. Lucky you to still have them. Good perk for any tenants, especially on the garden floor - privacy.

I too would love to hear if anyone makes new shutters to fit into old windows. We need two parlor floor (10 foot window) pocket shutters.

B'stoner, who are you using to strip the FPs? I'm looking for someone to do mine....

I do believe that currnet NYC codes require that FPs get relined with new liners when renovation gets carried out.

did you get the satin finish?

you don't need to reline a fireplace unless you are going to use it. Even then, I'm not sure there is an NYC code forcing you to reline it.

I belive Enjo woodworking, www.enjo.com, produces these traditional type of shutters.

Hope that helps!
