Springing for Wood Windows on the Second Floor

wood windows

Since the second floor is our main living/entertaining space for the next few years, we decided to spring for wood windows in the rear. For Landmarks conformance, we are doing all wood windows on the front, but other than the second floor, all the rear windows are dark aluminum.

I am in need of new windows and was wondering why you chose aluminum instead of vinyl and where did you buy your windows.Thank you

We used aluminum instead of vinyl in the rear (except for this floor) because they work better and look nicer in our opinion. We are using wood in the front because landmarks requires it--but it has the added benefit of looking a zillion times better than either aluminum or vinyl. Vinyl really looks hideous in our opinion.

Yes, I agree wood is sooo much nicer but on my budget not possible. Any suggestions as to where to buy good aluminum windows?
