This week our readers put space at a premium: Whole houses and three-bedroom apartments made up our top listings. The styles and locations varied from intact Romanesque Revival interiors to modernized condos in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Which would you choose?

10. An aluminum-sided house on Lorimer Street in Williamsburg includes an uncommon feature — a grape press in the basement. Left behind by the Italian family that owned this house across 60 years and three generations, it could be just the accoutrement for the bearded Brooklynite who fancies starting an artisanal wine business. The house has an apartment on each of its three floors, with finishes that could use some updating. Not a lot of detail, but there are numerous tin ceilings.

9. This Greenwood Heights townhouse — on a quiet block near Greenwood Cemetery at 344 22nd Street — has been completely renovated, with virtually everything new, from the redone facade in front to the newly installed lawn in the rear. It appears to be a flip, but the renovation seems to have been undertaken with some care, and it’s a nice-looking house for those after a modern-ish look.

8. There’s nothing more coveted than a brownstone — and if you’re a brownstone enthusiast, then you know it’s all about the details. And this five-story, single-family home at 68 Rutland Road has plenty of those to brag about.

7. In an elegant landmarked limestone building designed by noted architect Emory Roth, according to the listing, this Upper West Side three-bedroom condo in Manhattan has exposures to the north, south and west. The apartment has beamed ceilings and two bathrooms, one an en suite in the master bedroom. The building is one block from Riverside Park and has only two units per floor.

6. This Renaissance Revival-slash-neo-Classical townhouse at 26 Montgomery Place in Park Slope is quite the grand residence. Landmarked and located on a park block, it’s huge, loaded with period details in stellar condition, and offers some modern amenities the 19th-century builders of the house never considered, like a roof deck and an in-ground pool.

5. In Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens, a third-floor condo just two blocks away from Prospect Park. The completely modernized three-bedroom apartment, in a turn-of-the-last-century building, has one bathroom and an open kitchen. Building amenities include a virtual doorman system and laundry room.

4. Next, a three-bedroom condo in a Victorian brick-and-brownstone building in Park Slope. The full-floor apartment features plenty of original moldings and parquet floors. It has one bathroom, a walk-in closet that could be converted to a second bathroom, and central air.

3. In Bed Stuy we land on a four-story brick and brownstone house on Lafayette Avenue. A flip that was on the market last year asking $1.95 million but apparently didn’t sell, this one’s fully renovated, with modern kitchens and baths and restored original woodwork, including a pair of ornate carved mantels on the parlor floor. A four-story, the house holds an owner’s four-bedroom triplex and a garden rental; there’s also a finished basement with a low ceiling.

2. In Carroll Gardens is a four-story brownstone on Sackett Street between Court and Smith. Renovated, but with some details remaining, including a handful of marble mantels, it’s a legal three-family, set up as a single residence, with four large bedrooms on the top two floors. The garden level holds a den and a laundry room, and could easily be converted into a rental, though it also holds the mechanicals. A curious point: This one apparently sold less than a year ago for $400,000 over the current ask.

1. The most popular listing this week was a two-story brick house on Chauncey Street with an apartment on each floor. It’s a small house full of tight spaces; turning it into a single-family and opening up some walls could be a good way to go with this one. There’s a bit of original detail, including moldings, hardwood floors and a fireplace.
