“Wow, it’ll have to be some kind of record for Fort Greene if the top floor of the brownstone at 4 South Portland Avenue sells for the asking price of $1,059,000. As far as we know, no single floor has ever cleared the million-dollar mark,” we said in November.

Well, in this record-setting time, we are no longer surprised to hear the two-bedroom, one-bath condo sold above ask, for $1,175,000, according to a spokeswoman for Douglas Elliman, which brokered the listing.

At 1,012 square feet, that works about to about $1,160 per square foot. The two-bedroom apartment had been recently renovated and its old details preserved but it was by no means one of the most remarkable apartments we’ve seen. The location, though, could not be better: It is in the first house in from the park.
