Here’s an extraordinary property, a freestanding Greek Revival mansion on a double lot with parking for four cars in Cobble Hill. It was House of the Day in 2010, when it was asking $7 million. It didn’t sell, and now it’s back on the market for the same price. It was also Building of the Day in January. The exterior was restored by architectural firm Baxt Ingui; click through to Building of the Day to see the shocking “before” photo. On the inside, you will find a well-maintained owner’s triplex with art studio space and two rentals with a separate entrance. The rooms appear well-proportioned and light-filled, as you would expect in a 35-foot-by-50-foot freestanding house. Do you think this time they will get their ask?

  1. Actually, considering the lack of supermarkets around here, it is an advantage to live near the Met–although the truck deliveries could be annoying. The walk to the train takes 10 minutes MAX. And although mostly residential, it is only a few blocks from Court. Plus, you can overindulge in ice cream down the block at Farmacy. Still, I AM flabbergasted by the asking price. But that happens regularly these days. The reno job was great–really transformed in a good way.
