40 Willow Place made all sorts of headlines when it sold for $7,350,000 last summer. Designed by Mary and Joseph Merz in the 1960’s, the 6,500-square-foot pad had been on the market for nine months or so before closing in August. As noted by Curbed late last week, the property is now back on the market asking $7,950,000, a price designed to cover the broker’s fee and let the new owners get out in one piece. The market sure is stronger than a year ago, so it sounds plausible to us. It’s certainly a unique house.
