This is one of the most unusual houses in the Clinton Hill Historic District, and also one about which relatively little is known, according to our 2010 Building of the Day post. Reportedly built for a chemist sometime in the 1880s, it is identified as Queen Anne with Neo-Grec elements, despite its somewhat Italianate-seeming exterior. The freestanding house includes 31 rooms, a large 60-foot-by-105-foot lot, a two-car garage, and 7,000 square feet inside. One potential snafu: It is divided into seven units, according to the listing. What do you think of the $10,000,000 ask?

For $10 million, I wouldn’t want AC units hanging out of the windows! And I think I’d also want a restored facade that isn’t all cracked. And restored floors (none of that cherry pink-stained hideousness). And an upgrade to the ugly old hallway carpet. Ugh. No thanks.
