It’s not often that two adjacent houses come up for sale at the same time, let alone ones that are identical twins, so this new listing at 121 and 123 Fort Greene Place in, you guessed it, Fort Greene is worth taking a look at. The houses don’t have stoops, but they do have plenty of original detail. Judging from the pics, though, and the fact that both buildings have been under the same ownership for at least three decades, we’re betting that they’re going to need some work. While not a park block, the location is super convenient. The combined asking price of $2,724,000 doesn’t sound like a reach to us, but we suppose it’ll all turn on how much work needs to be done. If that number’s beyond your each, the two buildings are also for sale separately, though we hear that there’s been plenty of interest already.

  1. Quick count, 19 out 76 comments (an even 25%) belong to the village idiot. Looks like I missed another quality day at Class Warfarer, Inc.

Interesting seeing this listing, regardless of the less than stellar condition or not quite perfect block. Double listing seem to take longer (for obvious reasons). There are two on Shelter Island right now that have a discount of $100K if you take both. I’m guessing no such markdown here.

  2. what an embarrassment this thread is to us all.
why the hell do any of u care whether the curtains are knotted or hanging straight??? if u do, buy the house and change them!
i highly doubt that those knots will keep any serious buyer from purchasing either or both these houses.
i hope the new owner keeps the “hoboken” curtains. or, better, sends them (knots intact) to the sweet-talking stargazer!
and, dave, curtains and drapes are the same thing.
the phrase u were thinking of refers to carpet matching drapes.

    dumbest thread ever

Haven’t read all the comments yet; started at the bottom since I had to sign in. Based on this, I’m going to predict lots of *rob* comments for this one. My second cold stone lock is he threw out some stinky bait, and started reeling them in.

    Never gets old, eh?

  4. I agree with DeLepp- it annoys the heck out of me when they do that and it’s a turn-off. I get the impression that the broker (generically speaking) is trying to pull a fast one or has a certain contempt for the consumer.
