Looking to buy, but on a relatively tight budget? Bargains can still be found in New York City’s most populous borough. Here are five that are easy on the eyes and the wallet — all asking $400,000 or less.

In this bunch there’s nothing smaller than a one-bedroom, and you’ll also find a two-bedroom, a three-bedroom, and a single-family house. If you needed proof that limited funds doesn’t always mean having to sacrifice a prime nabe for more space, here it is.

Which one would you choose?

Chock full of prewar charm and hardwood floors, this two-bedroom, one-bath Flatbush co-op also boasts top-of-the-line appliances and four closets. Building amenities include storage, a laundry room and a bike room — and since the apartment is a sponsor unit, no board approval is necessary. One potential downside: There are no dogs allowed. But if you’re planning to stay pup-free, this move-in-ready pad with monthly maintenance of only $533 would be a nice pick.

This listing offers a rarity: a three-bedroom, prewar South Williamsburg penthouse for $400,000. Of course there’s a catch: It’s an HDFC coop with an income cap of $65,952, or $76,944 for a household of three or more. It’s also on the fifth floor of a walk-up. But the spot is cleanly renovated and conveniently located to transit and the ‘Burg’s many cultural spots, making it a hard bargain to turn down if you’ve got the money saved up and a fitting income.

This fully detached ranch-style home is located in Gerritsen Beach, one of the few borough nabes where buying an entire house for less than $400,000 is still feasible. The large finished attic and private three-car drive will certainly help many potential buyers overcome the property’s distant location, not to mention that the two-bedroom abode is move-in ready. Also a plus is that the home is elevated and insulated — it sustained absolutely no damage from Hurricane Sandy, according to the listing. The property also comes with a 13-month home warranty.

Beautifully renovated with stainless-steel appliances and custom cabinets, while retaining its original 1930s charm, this Prospect Lefferts Gardens co-op offers plenty of sun and closets galore (there are six in total). In addition to the unit’s single bedroom, the apartment also features a large living room, a quaint dining area and a foyer. Still a bargain by 2016 standards, the property (or another one-bedroom unit in the building) was a Co-op of the Day back in 2009, when we called its ask of $239,000 “relatively affordable.”

Last up, this generously proportioned one-bedroom is directly across from Fort Greene Park. An interesting setup has an open kitchen located inside a sprawling living room and a full wall of windows. The foyer includes a walk-in closet, and the surrounding grounds bring a bucolic feel to the unit, located close to busy Myrtle Avenue.
