A freestanding Bushwick house, located at 978 Bushwick Avenue and now divided into three units, just closed for $1,225,000, in what is likely a record for the neighborhood. The home was a House of the Day pick this May, when it was listed for $1,195,000. As we noted, there aren’t many houses with this kind of detail in Bushwick, not to mention ones with high quality  renovations and updated mechanicals. Here’s what the broker had to say about the property:

This multi-family prewar townhouse was built in the late 19th century (c. 1887) by Theobald Engelhardt… The free standing three family Victorian with driveway parking is now a completely refurbished property. Wheel-cut glass pocket doors, three original fireplaces (two working-gas), parquet floors throughout and an extra-large very private back yard and rare off street parking with two car garage, along with woodwork, etched glass, plaster moldings, and a fully upgraded mechanical system complete this property, which has been maintained impeccably throughout. There are two high income rentals above the owners duplex.
