Brooklyn Open Houses -- Crown Heights, Bushwick

This week’s top listings include luxury condos with swimming pools, budget buys and single-family homes spread across all corners of Brooklyn. Which would you choose?

10. This East Williamsburg studio near the Graham Avenue L stop could be converted into a one-bedroom. The building has a spa, hot tub, sauna, and pool — among other amenities. But before you set your heart on this place, check your bank balance. The home must be bought with cash.

9. Last week’s No. 9 holds its spot. This 1940s attached brick Corcoran listing on East 40th Street in East Flatbush was an Open House Pick many months ago. And it’s still on the market — though now listed with Keller Williams — with its $459,000 ask reduced to $450,000. While that may seem like the deal of the century, the property is only one story — two if you count the finished basement, and it legally is only a one-family.

8. This two-family prewar townhouse at 227 Bergen Street is located on a tree-lined street full of classic architecture in Boerum Hill. Buyers have the option to either live in the upper triplex and rent out the newly renovated garden apartment and basement rec room for extra monthly income, or remodel the townhouse to a large single-family home and enjoy a deck and private rear yard.

7. Now in its third week on the list, this lovely Crown Heights three-bedroom sat at No. 10 last week and has moved up a few spots. Located super close to the Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park and the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, the 950-square-foot apartment has been recently remodeled, with a steam shower, dishwasher and private terrace with a cedar horizontal fence.

4. On Marlborough Road in Prospect Park South we’ve got a formidable contender, a beautifully renovated three-story Victorian that was No. 2 on last week’s list. “You will not find many homes in Brooklyn more generous in size,” reads the listing, and that seems a fair estimation. It’s got five bedrooms, 3.5 baths, six walk-in closets, 44 windows and a two-car garage. Also upgraded plumbing and electric, zoned A/C and heat, and a new security system. An extra-appealing kitchen, a lovely sun room — a lot to like here.

3. If it’s an owner’s duplex you’re after, you’ve found it here, at 1297 Bushwick Avenue. It’s got just such a space on its top two floors, above a two-bedroom garden rental, all newly renovated. The duplex has an open-plan parlor floor with a nicely done kitchen, with Caesarstone countertops and floor-to-ceiling cabinets. Above are three bedrooms and two baths.

2. On Prospect Place in Crown Heights we’ve got a three-story with an apartment on each floor. It’s renovated top to bottom, with central air. It’s not a treasure trove of original detail, but there’s quite a bit there, including moldings, mantels, woodwork, pocket doors and some original floors with inlays. No owner’s duplex, obviously, but some decent rental income.

1. Our No. 1 pick this week is in Prospect Park South, a three-story, three-unit freestanding Victorian, sited at 1011 Beverly Road, just off Coney Island Avenue. This one needs work, and it’s being pitched toward investors/developers as well as potential owner-occupants — the listing cites “approximately 10,500 buildable feet.” The few pictures reveal vast spaces and lots of intact original detail, including beamed ceilings, stained glass, and inlaid parquet floors.
