Brooklyn Open Houses -- Park Slope, Crown Heights, Bushwick

No new construction or contractor specials this week: Our open house picks are all renovated and all have some original details — quite a bit of it in two cases. They span four different points on the borough map: Park Slope, Crown Heights, Greenpoint and Bushwick.

On 2nd Street in Park Slope we’ve got a four-story Romanesque Revival house, with a four-bedroom owner’s triplex and a garden-floor rental. Featured as a House of the Day back in 2009, it’s got a plethora of details in excellent shape, including seven fireplace mantels, fretwork, wainscoting, built-in cabinetry, pocket shutters and doors, stained glass windows, and an entry bench and mirror. The bathrooms and kitchen are upgraded, and the whole place is in move-in shape.

The detail in that one is mirrored in our next house, a Queen Anne in the Crown Heights North Historic District that features a similar bonanza of ornate original woodwork (which includes a grand center staircase), not to mention some nice plaster detailing. There’s a nice exterior on this one too, with gabled dormers and a mansard roof — the facade needs some sprucing up, though. This one’s a single-family, with a six-bedroom triplex up top.

Moving over to Greenpoint, we’re looking at a single-family that’s small but charming, with a three-bedroom duplex over a finished and windowed basement. It’s not a detail fest like the last pair, but it’s got moldings, inlaid parquet floors, wainscoting and plaster ceiling medallions. An interesting point about this one: You can buy it along with the house next door for $3 million.

Finally, on Cornelia Street in Bushwick we’ve got a two-family limestone, consisting of two floor-through units. The areas pictured in the listing are all newly renovated, though the specification that it’s “ready for your finishing touches” leaves open the question of what’s been left undone. It’s got bay windows, original woodwork, at least one coffered ceiling and some plaster detailing.
