Starting at $435K, Four Open Houses to See This Weekend

Our open house picks this weekend are a heterogeneous bunch, including a classic brownstone in Bed Stuy, a sprawling standalone Beverly Square East, a possible development property in Williamsburg, and a small three-bedroom under the $500K mark in Flatlands. One point of note: Three of the four have garages.

If you’re in need of seven bedrooms, check out our first pick, a standalone house on East 17th Street in Beverly Square East. It’s a big one — in addition to all those bedrooms it’s got a wrap-around enclosed front porch, a pair of sun porches on the second floor, a large deck in back with a vine-covered pergola, a big yard and a two-car garage. It’s got some original detail as well, and is quite a nice-looking house, though some updating may be needed.

Next up is an offbeat listing — a two-story house off the street grid on Woodpoint Road in Williamsburg, with an adjacent brick two-car garage. Perhaps more interesting to developers than aspiring home-owners, it’s a triangular lot with 104 feet of frontage and, according to the listing, 5,346 buildable square feet. There are no pictures of the interior of the house, which is set up as a two-family, with a separate unit on each floor.

Our next one is more straightforward — a three-story 1878 brownstone with original details on Stuyvesant Avenue in Stuyvesant Heights. This one’s set up with a two-and-a-half-bedroom duplex over a garden rental. Kitchens are updated and the place looks to be in good shape, though it may need some work; at the least it could use a means of garden access from the duplex.

Our last one carries a relatively low price tag — $435,000 to be exact. A semi-detached, aluminum-sided number on Avenue L in Flatlands, it’s a small three-bedroom, around 1,000 square feet in total. It’s got a full dining room, an eat-in kitchen, hardwood floors and is in “move-in condition” according to the listing. There’s also a finished basement and a garage.
