Here’s a transitional Greek Revival-Italianate house with original details in an unlikely locale: South Williamsburg. It’s at 52 South 6th Street, a block from the waterfront and in the shadow of the Williamsburg bridge — also, as the listing notes, near the Domino Sugar complex that’s currently under construction.

It’s a four-story with an apartment on each floor, two of which are vacant, two of which are occupied for roughly the next six months. So it’d work as an investment property for someone who can get by with a single floor or who lives elsewhere — of course it could also be refigured, as a one family or a triplex over a rental.

What’s pictured is quite nice, with a vibe that’s more Brooklyn Heights than South Williamsburg. There are wide-plank floors, working gas fireplaces with mantels of veined marble, and original woodwork including the newel post and balustrade.

The one pictured kitchen is not your standard rental number; it’s got black granite countertops, a built-in stovetop and a French door leading to the landscaped, greenery-heavy backyard.

The exterior is a little bit of a mystery — a 2015 photo in PropertyShark shows siding and a cornice in need of paint, but a current photo of the rear included with the listing shows a brick facade.

There’s much that’s not shown, but in general the place looks well maintained, and with a 20-foot width the units are reasonably spacious. Location is favorable as far as proximity to bars, restaurants and the waterfront, though nobody would call it pastoral.
