The most popular listings on Brownstoner this week include a diminutive cottage in Rhinebeck, N.Y., a limestone on Doctor’s Row in Bay Ridge and a brick townhouse in Brooklyn Heights.

Listings are scattered all over the borough this week as well as in the Hudson Valley. The least expensive home of the group is a former schoolhouse in Fishkill, N.Y. for $185,000 and the most expensive is a Park Slope townhouse with a deluxe renovation at $4.995 million

9. On a park block in the Park Slope Historic District is this showpiece of a brownstone on 6th Street. This circa 1895 Romanesque Revival, got a deluxe renovation in 2010, and it combines restored original details with high-end updates. In the detail division there’s stained glass, lovely original woodwork, six fireplaces (one working), and the original wainscoted staircase.

In Rhinebeck, N.Y. this mid-19th-century cottage at 18 James Street, has a gracious front porch which gives it a larger presence if the numbers are to be believed it is actually just 850 square feet. The two-bedroom, 1.5-bath house has been thoroughly renovated. There are new finishes throughout, although a few original features survive, including some wide-planked floorboards.

5. This former schoolhouse at 1245 Hopewell Avenue in Fishkill, N.Y has a bit of historic character in a diminutive package. According to the Fishkill Historical Society, the simple structure was built circa 1803 as a private boarding school. It was moved from its original location to this spot in the 1830s. Now a residence, the little yellow house has three bedrooms and 1.5 baths.
