Here’s a Romanesque Revival brick townhouse on a 26-foot lot with a garage and a driveway — a common enough commodity in the borough’s outer reaches but a rare find in Park Slope a stone’s throw from Prospect Park. Located at 441 14th Street in the Park Slope Historic District, the house seems to need considerable work, though the listing is short on details.

The front parlor is the only room pictured, and it’s got some unusual, Liberace-esque wall detailing that may or may not be original. It’s also got crown moldings, a painted mantel and original parquet floors.

That’s it, as far as interior photos go, so what the rest of the place looks like is a mystery, though it’s a safe bet we’re not talking about move-in condition, especially given the listing’s admonition to “grab your architect.”

There are three other fireplaces and dark wood paneling to be found, according to the listing, which also references “original hand painted murals,” although they aren’t shown, unfortunately.

The three-story house is set up as a two-family, according to the floor plan, with a two-bedroom floor-through apartment over an owner’s duplex. There’s a 45-foot-deep garden in the rear, with some big spreading trees and brick pathways.

Listed by Cynthia Crowley of Olshan Realty, the house is asking $2.795 million. Sound realistic, given the work that may be needed?
