Here’s a duplex in what Brownstoner’s Suzanne Spellen called “one of my favorite Park Slope houses” in a Building of the Day post. That’d be an 1888 limestone and brick Romanesque Revival townhouse with a curved front bay at 240 Berkeley Place, where the apartment occupies the garden and parlor floors.

As it happens, the house was apparently, as Suzanne notes, the setting for the movie “Duplex,” starring Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore as Manhattanites who move to Park Slope, where their lives are ruined by a nightmare neighbor. Which is not to say this would be one’s experience in this particular duplex. We’re sure the neighbors are lovely.

The duplex has three bedrooms and quite the lovely upper level, full of parlor-floor details like parquet floors, a huge pier mirror, mahogany wainscoting and plaster detailing.

In the rear is a brand new kitchen with a wall of white cabinetry and a center island topped by white stone and sided in wainscoting to match the house’s original woodwork.

There’s one bedroom at the rear of the parlor level — that one overlooks the yard — and two downstairs, along with a laundry room, a walk-in closet, a storage space and a pair of baths. The lower floor looks fairly drab compared to the upper one, from what we can see of it — which isn’t much. The master bedroom’s not pictured.

Neither is the yard or the small deck off the kitchen with steps down to the yard — or the fetching etched glass front doors shown in Suzanne’s post. Presumably those are still there.

The location is favorable, with Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza and the 2 and 3 trains close at hand.

Listed by Corcoran broker William Stephen, the unit is renting for a hefty $9,000 a month. All utilities are included, as one might expect at that price point. Aiming high, or you think they’ll get it?
