Bed Stuy House Tour Set for Oct. 20

The Bed Stuy annual house tour is coming up soon. No one is allowed to publish photos or addresses in advance, but we hear from one of our well-placed sources that one of this year’s featured properties is decked out entirely in Aesthetic Movement style from the 1870s and ’80s, and its next-door neighbor, also on the tour, is entirely modern. The 34th Annual Tour takes place Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 am to 4 pm. Before the tour is a free homeownership workshop about how to finance the renovation or purchase of a home in Bed Stuy at 9 am. The Bed Stuy Bazaar runs from 10:30 to 3:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $15 from Little Red Boutique, Bed-Vyne Wine or Sista’s Place. They are $20 at the door. The tour is organized by Brownstoners of Bedford Stuyvesant Inc. and starts at the Boys High School at 832 Marcy Avenue, at the Putnam Avenue entrance.
