An affordable housing lottery has launched for 10 newly constructed units at 1007 Atlantic Avenue in Prospect Heights.

The lottery will make two studio units, three one-bedrooms, and five two-bedrooms available. The studios will ask $780 a month, the one-bedrooms will go for $806 a month, and the two-bedrooms will charge $973 a month.

To qualify for the lottery, applicants for a studio apartment will need to make between $26,743 and $40,080. For the one-bedroom units, one-person households will have to make between $27,635 and $40,080, and two-person households will have to earn between $27,635 and $45,840.

For the two-bedroom units, two-person households must earn between $33,360 and $45,840, three-person households must earn between $33,360 and $51,540, and four-person households must earn between $33,360 and $57,240. The apartments are set at 60 percent of the area median income.

The eight-story, 50-unit building includes a bike storage room, package room, storage, and a roof deck. The fairly traditional looking red brick building has dark gray metal accents. It includes stores at street level.

The building was designed by Issac & Stern Architects, and Sterling Town Equities is the developer, according to Building Department permits. Issac & Stern is known for its traditional masonry buildings and has many medium-sized projects in Brooklyn.

Leasing for market rate units in the building launched earlier this month, with one-bedrooms starting at $2,229 a month.

The listings for those units specify white oak hardwood flooring and a Bosch washer and dryer in each unit.

The lottery runs through July 13. You can apply online at NYC Housing Connect here, and you can learn more about the process of finding affordable housing in our guide.
