First Rendering of Large New Rental Building Coming to Queens Plaza North

This just in: the development company The World-Wide Group has broken ground on a $157 million luxury rental development at the intersection of 24th Street and Queens Plaza North in Long Island City today. The building will rise 21 stories and contain 421 rental units. Apartments will range in size from studios to three-bedrooms. The development will also feature 25,000 square feet of amenities, including an outdoor pool with a landscaped roof deck, a fitness center, private gardens, indoor parking and a bike room. The ground breaking comes a year and a half after the developers purchased the 40,000-square-foot lot at 41-50 24th Street. According to The Real Deal, the site sold for $28,850,000 — the third time it changed hands in less than seven years. Finally, with construction now under way, the World-Wide Group expects to begin leasing units in about 18 months. GMAP
