This one-bedroom at 35-05 72nd Street in Jackson Heights looks like a good buy to us at $195,000, especially when viewed against what a similarly sized (850 square foot) prewar apartment would cost you in some other parts of town. The apartment has a ton of charm and original architectural detail and a reasonable monthly maintenance of $813. It costs less than a comparable apartment in the historic district with a shared garden, but it’s closer to the express trains. It’s on the third floor and has lots of closets as well as an eat-in kitchen. What’s not to like!
