19-Puritan-Avenue-052013
The photos in this listing for 19 Puritan Avenue (aka 19 75 Road) in Forest Hills are woeful but the house itself is pretty nice–and could be very nice with the right touch. That’s another way of saying it’s got good bones but there have been some questionable remodeling decisions over the years. Nothing that would cost too much to remedy though. Plus, it’s just a hop, skip and a car-dodge away to Forest Park. The Center Hall Colonial, which appears to have been in the same family for the past 40 years, is asking $1,988,000.

  1. Brownstoner Queens, I hope that you’ll also highlight some Forest Hills apartment listings (co-ops and condos). There are many people who have the impression that Forest Hills’ housing consists only of single-family homes. While there are many single-family homes in Forest Hills, there are also many great co-op buildings (and a few condo buildings). There is even a new 17-story condo building currently being built right next to the 71st-Continental subway station on the north side of Queens Boulevard. I think it’s great that Brownstoner has started it’s new Queens site and I hope that future coverage of Forest Hills will show the diversity of housing options that are available in the neighborhood.
