Window Cleaning in Rented Apt?
Looking for any recs re: how to get windows cleaned in a rented apartment. We live on the top floor of an apartment with an absentee (doesn't do much re: repairs but the rent stays low) landlord. Would like to keep him out of it but our windows haven't been cleaned in literally 10 years. They are technically the flip in and clean kind but more than one has a damaged hinge and/or how do you flip in the tops without standing on a ladder in front of a window that's taller than you? What are the legalities of hiring someone to do it from the roof? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Ditmas Park where the average home seems to sell for a million bucks? Hardly.....

Please God, let them go to Newark. Stop destroying my neighborhood and make one of the worst intersections in Brooklyn even MORE impassable!

Amen! And I'm talking about YOU - 10th St between 7th and 6th.... DARK DARK DARK, esp with all that tree cover. PLEASE do your neighbors a favor and leave your porch lights on, at least until 11pm or midnight. That street is usually totally dark at 10pm!

Count me equally underwhelmed by the Park Slope store. It wasn't BAD but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. They need more toppings, at the very least.
The layout of the store is poor - they have you hit the register head on, while the actual display of toppings is along the side. Numerous folks walked in and were confused while I was sitting there. They should flip it and have the register towards the far end and get a real qeue going.

Sorry for the delay in responding (i wish there was a "notify me of new replies" button in this forum!).
The company we've used most often is Steven Windows Company. The owner is a russian guy. Their phone # is 212-595-6620. Haven't been in touch with them yet this year, but probably will be hankering for clean windows again in May. We've always been happy with their work. There was one year 3-4 years ago that we used a company that we found at the Atlantic Antic. They did a great job and I recall them being based in Cobble Hill, but I managed to lose their card, can't remember their name and they haven't been back at the Antic since :(. Oh well!
BTW - if anyone has any other recommendations for quality, affordable residential window cleaners (working on getting our whole coop building done all at once since many other unit owners are interested), please do post the info.
