extension insulation ?
I have a small extension on my house (10 x 12) that gets very cold in the winter. I'm going to replace the windows, but I have a feeling it needs more insulation.
The exterior is stucco over masonry (not sure if it's cinder block or brick). There is a cellar/foundation beneath the extension.
I poked a hole in the sheetrock to see what's behind it...I don't feel any insulation at all, just a small gap and then masonry.
Anyone have any recommendations? (i.e. what would be both effective and affordable, if anything...)
--tear down the sheetrock, put in insulation, re-sheetrock?
--spray in insulation?
--wrap the exterior? (the extension has a new roof so I'm hoping I don't have to re-do that)

great plumber, very reliable: Donato on 3rd Ave.
for sewers and water mains: All-Boro Subsurface. replaced my lead water main at better rate than other quotes and did good professional work.

Call Mr. Innocent from Ino & Sons. They are redoing all the plumbing for my renovation. I found him after three referrals from threee different friends. I have been very pleased with the work. Reasonable, thorough, and on time!
Tell him Chris from Decatur referred you.

Try Star Metal in Brooklyn. He cast new stair railing for me from pieces I supplied as models, one of which was a large round ball on a round base. He may know where to get it.
When I was looking architecural iron (townhouselady's link) had a smaller ball but not bad looking. I thought they were out of business.

Barklyn Heights pet care is a really great choice if you are in the Brooklyn Heights area. I feel me and my dogs get more personalized and consistent service because it isn't a big company. Christina the owner has a great handle on my 2 dogs, and they can definitely be a handful. She is very reliable and has a great attitude. They also offer pet sitting for dogs and cats. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog walker or pet sitter in Brooklyn Heights.

yukino at animal loving care is the best! I've been using her and her crew for 7 years. very sweet, real dog lovers. they leave detailed notes about every walk. fair prices. she also grooms small dogs.
