Regarding my hyperbole, I was thinking of farmers markets specifically. Outside of the weeksville market, which I just found out about, there isn't another one nearby unroll you get to grand army plaza or fort greene.

Really though, I live right over here and there isn't a place with an acceptable selection of fruits and veg for half a mile. The fine fare on Marcus Garvey or the key food on mxb and gates are the closest. Everything else is terrible. Like mold on the garlic terrible.

Gardel said he couldn't get financing for a retail space, so it's going to be all residential. I'm sorry to see his shop go, but I'm happy he's not just selling it to some developer. Ugly or not, I prefer that the neighborhood stays in the hands of the people who have been a part of the neighborhood for ages.
