Cockroaches
I love to read the NY times real estate section...those pre-war brownstones a block away from the promenade...aaah, the view...THE COCKROACHES!!!
My advice: BUYER BEWARE.. you will be mortaging your life away, only to share your new abode with a family of humongous cockroaches. FYI

These are temporary fixes. Those roaches are there to stay. It's nice to be in or near NYC. If you're willing to pay the overly inflated cost of buying into the NY dream....and can live with the ginormous roaches, more power to you. They are so huge that you can actually hear them walking accross your parquet floor. If you could only charge them rent, it may be worth it to stick it out. Or..if you could teach them to make the beds and empty out the dishwasher, nanny duty, etc....you could learn to overcome their outward appearance I suppose.
