I think it's a good decision to move there b/c you're going to an area that's on the cusp of major change. You already have trendy reataurants and lounges open on Lincoln and Flatbush. There is some Loitering but it has decreased in the last few years.

I think NY home buyers are still in denial. I seriously doubt that place is worth 2.3 Mil. Maybe if it were in Park Slope but for the Heights you're looking at 1.75 tops. Stop overpricing your homes, the housing boom is over....even in NY. I bet this house sits on the market for months before the owners get the message. It is a nice though!!

I agree the location is not the best and the design is over the top, but I can't stand all the negativity. It's called gentrification people, any new condo is a good thing. It increases home values in the area, brings in new businesses, and gives the NYPD incentive to reduce crime. I notice that any condo being built in a scetchy area gets overly criticized while new developments in better neighborhood's (Park Slope) gets applauded. If you're a real New Yorker you would knowthat the Slope was a bad nabe before Manhattanites started moving there. Celebrate change!!!

Amenities are still not the big draw here in PLG, alas. Hopefully we will catch up and soon.

The appeal of an apartment on Ocean is the park and the B/Q subway. I know a few 20-something and 30-something professionals in media who are now renting apartments in PLG, and they're loving it. They found good deals and they like the neighborhood and being near the park, and I haven't heard any complaints about their buildings or safety.

I live on Ocean Avenue and I love it. It is definitely a neighborhood on the rise. Yes some of the amenities lack right now, but there are new stores and restaurants moving in. There is also a lot of great stuff near by. Most of the people in the neighborhood couldn't be nicer.

Sometimes Ocean Avenue can be a little noisy, but it's just average city life noise. I don't think the dry cleaners are overpriced and the one across from the Parkside Ave Q station is awesome. The Associated Supermarket on Flatbush and Hawthorne is really good at carrying organic and other items for people with dietary issues. Enduro is a wonderful Mexican place at Flatbush and Lincoln. You are only a 15 minute walk from the Flatbush Food Co-op at Cortelyou Rd. which I highly recommend.
