Enourmous For Sale Sign
ALTA NYC put up an enourmous "For Sale" sign recently in front a brownstone at 204 St John's Place. This isn't a normal for sale sign, but rather a 8' x 5' sign in the front yard facing the street. It is a tremendous eye sore and as nearby property owners, are there any regulations about the size of a sign?
Also, is ALTA NYC a licensed RE broker. Their website seemed to indicate that they are a rental broker, but not sales. Is there any way to run a check on them?

Looking to Sublet a 3+ BR
We currently own a three family townhome on 6th & 6th in the Slope in which we live on the bottom two floors and rent out the top two floors. With my wife beginnning residency in Manhattan we are enlisting the help of a live in nanny / au pair for a while and will need another bedroom. Therefore, we are looking to sublet a 3+ bedroom / 2+ bath apartment or home for a minimum of two years in Brooklyn. We are looking to spend approximately $4200+ / month. We are familiar with the normal resources (craigslist, NY Times, etc), but wanted to reach out to owners here to circumvent a rental broker.

I prefer the Dram Shop on 9th ave between 5th & 6th over 200 5th. Lots of TVs. Best burger. Good crowd.

I tried Miguels after reading these recomendations. I scheduled a time for them to come by and after waiting 20 minutes at the property called them to see when they were coming. They said they they would be by in an hour. I told them no thanks. They may be good but the last thing I want to deal with is another Time Warnerish company with bad customer service with a "we will be there between 12 and 6" type attitude. Especially in a down economy when they should jump at the opportunity to take on a new job.
