Fire Suppression Test for Coop?
Our 5-unit, self-managed coop has been issued a notice from NYFD that the Fire Suppression system test is due. The last time this was done in 2004 there was a management company in place, but they never turned over all the documentation, etc.
Anyway, looking to find a Master Fire Suppression Contractor, as cited in this notice to conduct the necessary tests. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

We had this happen with our co-op. Can't recommend the guys we used but there are plenty of ways to find licensed firms. In addition to the above you could also try the Construction Blue Book under Fire Sprinklers and there's a list of Master Fire Suppression contractors (not a complete one, though) on the Fire Departments website under Range Hood Fire Suppression.
Make sure the bids include a timetable for the performance of the work, including signing and notarizing the certificate of correction and arranging for the on site FD test. If you don't respond to the violation promptly the City will charge you about $1,900.
If you're not already doing so, one thing that's required is a monthly check of the pressure on the sprinkler stack. We have someone in our co-op who took the FD test and keeps a required monthly log of the readings.
